Jerusalem A Palestinian school boy was attacked on Tuesday by the security guards of the light train which began operating in Jerusalem by CityPass earlier this year.

Abd Al-Raheem Izz Eldeen Barbar, 13, was attacked on the train while he was on his way home from Shu'fat boys school.

Barbar said in his testimony to the Jerusalem Center for Social and Economic Rights that while he was riding together with some of his classmates the light train home to the Jerusalem neighborhood of Wadi Al-Jouz and the Old City, one Jewish security guard wearing a Kippa began to converse him in Hebrew, however, he couldn't understand him since he doesn't know Hebrew.

At that point, "Another guard told me that since I do not understand Hebrew I should immediately leave the train at the next station." He added, "At the next stop, one guard pushed me out of the train, causing me to fall on the ground. Consequently, my schoolmates stepped out of the train to help me to stand up. Nevertheless, the security guards blocked the door to prohibit us from returning to the train. And when my schoolmate Izz Eldeen Al-Tamimi of Wadi Al-Jouz tried to get inside the train, one of the guards scratched his neck and banned him with the other boys from entering.
