Print PDF

Israeli police detain two Palestinian brothers from inside their house in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan. According to the two brothers Muhammad and Al'a Sanad, 15 and 17 respectively, they were arrested from their beds.

When reporting the incident to JCSER, they said: "We were asleep in our house which locates in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, when the Israeli soldiers arrested us after storming our house on August 10. Afterwards, they took us to the police station in Salah Eldin. There, we were hit and harassed for almost five hours."

They added, "We were forced to sit on the ground and every passerby used to either kick or slap us while our hands and feet were handcuffed. Later, we were investigated about stone throwing incidents. However, we denied all the charges and then we were transferred to the police station in the Russian compound. The next day they send us to court which ordered our release on personal bail amounting to NIS 1000 on each of us, and ordered our house arrest for four days."
