ICRC Protection Coordinator Meets with JCSER Director General

The International Committee of the Red Cross's Protection Coordinator, Mr. Eloi Fillion, met yesterday in his office the Center's Director General,and lawyer Farid Mahajneh.

Mr. Fillion was briefed on the Israeli measures taken against Palestinian Jerusalemites, especially with regard to Israel's policies of house demolitions, ID card confiscation, family reunification, in addition to the invisible measures such as pursuit of tax, joint checkpoints erected by the Israeli police and income tax with the aim of taking seizure measures against citizens' vehicles and personal property and imposing fines on them.

Mr. Mahajneh reviewed the legal and judicial procedures being carried out by the Center's legal unit and its follow-up of hundreds of complaints received by Palestinian Jerusalemites. He spoke about the complications made to the orders and instructions issued by the Israeli ministers.

Mr. Fillion expressed interest in what has been presented to him concerning basic human rights violations and the importance of putting an end to these violations.
