JCSER Attains an Open-Ended Deferment on Home Demolition Order

Print PDF

JCSER's advocate, Farid Mahajneh, was able to attain a ruling from the Israeli Local Affairs Court to defer the home demolition order indefinitely. This came after the Israeli District court representing the West Jerusalem Municipality ruled for an immediate destruction of the home in 2001.

The recent ruling is conditional that the home-owner, Mr. Walid Jaber, must seek to obtain a building permit for his existing home. JCSER's advocate convinced the court that his client did his best to obtain a building permit for his existing home but the West Jerusalem Municipality has placed obstacles that have created impossible conditions to obtain such a permit.
