Israeli police attacked and briefly arrested on Saturday Ahamad Saleh Dari of Issawiyeh for not taking his 14-year-old child to the police station for interrogation.

Reporting the incident to JCSER, Dari said: "On February 7, 2012, I received a phone call from an Israeli policeman ordering me to bring my son Oday to the police station for interrogation. However, my son who was still suffering of mental illness due to his traffic accident which took place six years ago, and affected his behaviors and relations with others, refused to appear before the police."

Consequently, the police called the father again, but I suggested postponing his appearance before the police until the next day at 10:00 a.m. because of his psychological situation, but the police insisted to bring him the next day. As a result, the policeman replied by saying that he will call back after inspecting the issue with his superiors.

Dari added, "At 5:30 p.m. Israeli police raided my house to arrest my son. I held them responsible for what might happen to him because of his psychological situation. The police responded by attacking me and my wife Maha in front of my house. They also took me to the police station and held me there until my brother brought my son to the station. He served two days in detention. According to the medical report, I sustained bruises all over my body while my wife suffered of fractures in her arm. She was later transferred to orthopedic doctor."
