Israel police arrested eight Palestinian minors from Silwan

The Israeli Police arrested and abused eight Palestinian minors from the Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan on March 5.

One of the children Ahmad Nidal Salah, 13, reported to JCSER that he was arrested at dawn from his home in Silwan together with other children who were identified as: Shaddad A'war, 14, Elias A'war, 16 and Sohayb A'war, 14. During the investigation at the Israeli police station, they were all charged with throwing stones.

He added: I was beaten since the first moment of my arrest. One soldier pushed and insulted me while I was on my way to the police car. Also, I was beaten during the investigation because I refused to confess. I was forced to stand in front of the wall where I was beaten, slapped and kicked. During the investigation which lasted from eight in the morning until six o'clock p.m. my hands and feet were tied, and I didnt eat anything and I wasnt allowed to use the bathroom.

Salah continued: I was arrested for eight days during which I was investigated twice and beaten several times. The investigators used to laugh at me when crying during investigation. The police released me on March 12 and send me to house arrest for three days. They also imposed on me a bail of NIS 3000 and ordered me to return to the police station on Thursday for further investigation. They threatened me that their baton will wait for me if they arrest me another time.

Other children from Silwan have been arrested in the past few days including: Mohammad Abdel Min'em Awar, 14, Munir Ibrahim Abbasi, 16, Ali Sabri Abu Dyab and Shadi Jafarah, 15.
