The Israeli police evicted yesterday a Palestinian family from its home in Beit Hanina neighborhood, occupied East Jerusalem, after a group of settler has claimed ownership over the home.

A-Natsheh family, consisting of 14 members, was evicted from two adjacent homes. The police spokeswoman Luba a-Summari told the AFP: the court decided a while ago that the ownership of the two homes belong to Jews; one apartment was evacuated voluntary before two or three weeks while police forces assisted the eviction department forces to evict the (second) home in compliance with a court ruling.

Lubna a-Natsheh, the wife of the home`s owner, said: they came at 8:00 am to evict us and when my husband tried to repel them, they beat and arrested him.

Arieh King, head of the Land of Israel Fund, a right-leaning group that seeks expropriation of Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem, insists that the land was purchased by Jews before decades and that his organization is simply taking it back.
