JCSER warns against any Jewish settler aggression against Al-Aqsa Mosque

Print PDF

JCSER condemns the calls by Jewish settler leaders to invade and occupy one of Islams holiest sites, Al-Aqsa mosque on April 10, 2005.

JCSERs director said that Al-Aqsa mosque is a critical and dangerous red line and those who announce an unfounded claim of the Temple is just a pretext to destroy this sacred site. He stressed that harm done to this holy site will draw the region into a religious conflict that will not spare anyone.

He was astonished at the fanatical plans by the Jewish settlers to destroy the third holiest site to approximately 1.4 billion Moslems in the world. Despite the media frenzy about this subject yet the Sharon government remains silent especially after the Sharim Al-Sheikh understandings about this matter. These understandings obliged both sides to work for calm, the return to the negotiating table to arrive to peaceful solution to ensure the security and well being of all the nations in the region. By giving the Palestinian people the right to determine their fate and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on territories that were occupied due to Israeli aggression in June of 1967.

He added, more than one Israeli authoritative figure announced a plan to assault and destroy the holy site to incite more violence in the occupied territories. One outrageous proposal by Israeli fanatical right wing government members is to bomb the Al-Aqsa mosque from bombers. However, the Israeli authorities and their security forces did not react to any of those foreseen threats before enacting them.

He also said, the international community represented by the Security Council, the quartet, the European Union, and the American Administration bare full responsibility for world peace, and the protection of the Palestinian people and their holy sites.
