The Jerusalem Center for Social & Economic Rights (JCSER) was able to obtain the Interior Ministrys official approval to register a Palestinian Jerusalemite child, from Shufat Refugee Camp, north of Occupied Jerusalem, on his parents Jerusalem ID cards.

JCSER lawyer Mohammed Qadah, who is following up the case said, the mothers boy approached the Center on 19/6/2003 seeking legal assistance after the Interior Ministry turned down her application to register her twelve-year old son, Shadi, in his parents Jerusalem ID cards and to give him an ID no. Following a legal pursuit of the case, the Interior Ministry responded to JCSERs request to register the boy on his parents ID cards.
