JCSER Requests Israeli Prison Administration to Enable Jerusalemite Students to Sit for the Tawjihi Exams

Print PDF

The Jerusalem Center for Social & Economic Rights (JCSER) has called on the Israeli prison administration to enable Palestinian Jerusalemite detainees of student age - and holders of Jerusalem ID cards - to sit for the Tawjihi exams, citing the students basic rights under international laws and conventions.

A number of the young detainees had sent letters to their families complaining about the action taken by the Israeli prison administration, which prevents them from sitting for the Tawjihi General Secondary Exams.

A group of the students expressed dissatisfaction with the prison administrations unjustified stance and urged the Palestinian Ministry of Education to enable them to sit for the exams.
