JCSER Returns ID Card to a Palestinian Jerusalemite after it was Withdrawn for 23 Years

The Jerusalem Center for Social and Economic Rights was able to return the ID Card to a Palestinian Jerusalemite form the Silwan neighborhood, south of the Old City, After it was annulled for 23 years.

The Centers lawyer, Dina Shibli, said, The Palestinian Jerusalemite Mariam Nairoukh received an suspension notice in 1981 from the Ministry of Interior claiming that she was residing outside the city of Jerusalem. After she had received the ID Card 30 years ago through a family reunification application.

The lawyer Dina Shibli also said, Mariam Nairoukh attempted to regain her ID Card through more than one lawyer, however, the Ministry of Interior office insisted on its decision. After the Palestinian Jerusalemite brought her case to JCSER last year. After advocate Dina Shibli conducted lengthy communication process supported by evidence and documents The Ministry of Interior office reconsidered its decision and returned the ID Card to Mrs. Nairoukh, who is married and a mother to seven children.
