West Jerusalem Municipality reconsiders its demolition decision after JCSER provides documents proving the legality of the home

JCSER forced the West Jerusalem Municipality to reconsider its home demolition order against Jerusalemites Ibrahim and Khamis AlReji. The home demolition order was issued in February 2004.

The Municipality reconsidered its demolition decision after the Center provided documents proving the house is built on land that is considered yellow (allowable to build on) and not green (farm land). However the Municipality changed its list accusations and issued a fine. Advocate Ziad Quawar said.

Mr. Quwar added, the local affairs court judge issued a decision denying JCSERs petition to cancel the demolition order on July 4, 2004. The judge gave the Municipality until August 15, 2004 to execute the demolition order. Then the center submitted another petition after it learned that the land, which the house is, built on, is yellow and not green (allowable to build on).
