Twenty settlements in occupied Jerusalem approved

Israeli occupation's Jerusalem Municipality approved a settlement scheme to build 20 housing units at Shepherd Hotel which is owned by al-Husseini Family in the heart of Sheikh Jarrah. Khalil Tufakji, expert on settlements, said the project is part of a series of projects to erect settlement enclaves in the heart of the Palestinian neighborhoods in East Jerusalem and the Old City.

This project will be the start of a project to build 200 housing units on the lands of Karam al-Mufti which was confiscated in 1968 from the Arab Hotels Association.

He added that the aim of all these works is to make it impossible to divide the city of Jerusalem once again and prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
