Israeli police banned Palestinian conference to promote tourism in Jerusalem

Print PDF

A large force from the Israeli Police, Border Guard and Intelligence raided yesterday afternoon al-Hamra Palace in the city of Jerusalem where a press conference was organized to talk about the First Hotels Fair in Palestine (Hotex 2009) which will be launched as part of Jerusalem as the Capital of Arab Culture 2009.

The Israeli force gave the participants in the press conference two minutes to evacuate the place under the claim that the force carried a judicial order banning the press conference.

The force handed the organizers an order signed by Israeli Internal Security Minister banning the works of the conference under the claim that it is being held under the sponsorship of the PNA in Jerusalem.
