Jerusalem 20 February 2003- Palestinian Children Registered

The Israeli Interior Ministry has approved a decision to register Khaled Darwishs children on his Jerusalem ID card. Lawyer Ziad Qawar from the Jerusalem Center for Social & Economic Rights (JCSER), who is following-up the case, said the approval came after a series of correspondence and contacts with the Ministry.

Mr. Darwish, a resident of Al-Issawiyya neighborhood, northeast of Occupied Jerusalem, has applied for a family reunification for his wife, but has still to receive a ruling from the Interior Ministry, due to the Interior Ministers March 2002 decision to freeze Palestinian residents family reunification applications.
