Print PDF

At around 6:30 p.m. on March 8, 02 Israeli police arrested Nasser Ghawi, a resident of Sheikh Jarrah from his place of living on the pavement of the street facing his house which was taken over earlier by Israeli Jewish settlers.

Ghawi's wife reported to the Jerusalem Center for Social and Economic Rights, JCSER, "the police came while my husband was praying. When he completed his prayers, he was arrested and taken to the detention camp in the Russian Compound.

"At around 1:15 am, my husband called me to appoint a layer for him because he is facing charges of sexual harassment against one of the female setters in addition of inciting the kids to harass the settlers."

She added: "Before the arrest two settlers were present and filming the kids in the neighborhood. However, after almost two hours the kid Hani Ghaleb Abdel Razeq, 16, was arrested, in addition to Omar Taha, 16, while they were on their way back home from the market where they were trying to buy headphones for their mobiles. They were arrested from the street before arriving home. The people in the street informed their families about the arrest. On March 3, there will be a court session for the three detainees."
