Attacking Palestinian children by Israeli police undercover unit

Print PDF

Name of victim: Musalam Mousa Odeh, 10.

"On October 18, 2010, I was sitting with my counterparts in front of the protesting tent in Silwan, when a group of children were protesting in the street. At that time, Israeli soldiers were taking positions near Wadi al-Rababah intersection. After a while, a GMC car arrived and several masked people left it and began to run towards us. Consequently, the kids ran away from the area, but members of the Musta'ribeen (Israeli undercover units disguised as Arabs) caught me. They tore my clothes, hit and dragged me towards the car. Then they took me to a place inside the Old City near Dung Gate. There, they forced me with other kids to stand up facing the wall. Some of them were crying because members of the Musta'ribeen hit us inside the car. "

"Later, they took us to the detention camp in the Russian Compound. Then my father arrived and entered with me to the interrogation room. The interrogator asked me about the names of the kids who were throwing stones and about the reasons for throwing stones. However, I denied that I was throwing stones. Later, they released me and I left home with my father. I was very exhausted and hungry. My body was hurting me after they hit me.

Name: Muhammed Mufeed Mansour, 13,

"On October 11, I was on my way to a shop locating in Beer Ayoub in Silwan, when I saw a lot of people in the street watching Israeli troops who were standing on the opposite side of the street."

When I left the shop, I was attacked by a person wearing black uniform and a mask. He asked about the reason for throwing stones, but I insisted that I was inside the shop. Then, he pushed me on the ground and began to hit me on various parts of my body. Later, he carried me to inside a military jeep where I was hit by the soldiers who were inside it. Therefore, I began to cry together with another child, but they drove us to the detention center in the Russian Compound."
