Israel's Jerusalem Municipality ordered on Friday Khalil Ramadan Dabash, a resident of Jabal Za'kouka in Sur Baher to demolish his house which consists of two departments constructed on an area of 160 sq. meters.

He told the Jerusalem Center for Social and Economic Rights, JCSER that his house was built before 30 years.

The landowner's son, Muhammad, added to JCSER that the house used to provide shelter to families of his three brothers: Ramadan, (7 members), Iyad (nine members) and Raed (nine members).

He added, the house was slated for demolition because the Israeli authorities intend to open a new bypass road with 9 meters width. He continued that authorities bar any person from building in the area where 15 other houses are also threatened with demolition.

Dabash added that the Municipality imposed on his father a fine of NIS 112,000 in 2005, while he himself was ordered to pay a fine NIS 80,000. He reported also that the construction of the house cost his family a sum of NIS 300,000.

In al-Shi'ab neighborhood of Sur Baher, Israeli authorities ordered Mariam Iraq to demolish her house which was built on an area of 80 sq. meters and occupied by seven persons. The Palestinian woman was ordered also to pay a construction fine of NIS 50,000.
