Temporary Residency Permit Granted to a Resident from Hebron

The Jerusalem Center for Social & Economic Rights (JCSER) was able to obtain the Israeli Interior Ministry's official approval of the family reunification application submitted by Hamada Al-Bakri for his wife, a Palestinian resident of Hebron.

JCSER's Lawyer, Farid Mahajneh, who is following up the case file, said, 'Two applications were submitted to the Central Court in this regard, and another application to the Israeli Supreme Court, after which the Interior Ministry agreed to grant her a temporary residency permit.'

Mr. Mahajneh noted that after two years of legal dispute, the Interior Ministry recently approved two applications of child registration submitted by Yousef Zahran.

On the other hand, the Israeli Central Court set next June a date for a court session to examine the case lodged against the Interior Ministry concerning Omar Da'na's case file, after it refused to register his children and to grant his wife, with a Jordanian nationality, a family reunification permit, given the fact that the National Insurance Institute (NII) acknowledged her citizenship.

In another development, the Israeli Labor Court set next October a date for the case lodged by the Center on behalf of Naser Abu Rmeileh to obtain child benefits, under the pretext that he owns a house in Dahiet Al-Barid.

In 2003, Mr. Abu Rmeileh applied for child benefits, but the NII continued to delay the application.
